St. Lazare 1

Hello Again,
I thought I’d post my second final project of my spring quarter at the Savannah College of Art and Design. It was a Re-Design of a restaurant of our choice. I chose a great restaurant in West Village Dallas called St. Lazare World Pub. These are pictures of the menu. I’m still working to refine this project for the real world, but as far as school is concerned It’s complete! When it is 100% done I will re-post. Thanks for reading and I hope you like!

MATTHEW CARTER 0

First of all, So sorry I haven’t updated in a while. I know you’ve all been dying to get a new entry (ha) so here it is. I designed several pieces regarding a lecture by type designer Matthew Carter. A poster, three spread brochure, and admission tickets were created delivering a fresh new feel for Matthew Carter and the work he produced. Sorry for the bad quality photo’s, all I had was my iPhone. I hope you like, Let me know what you think!

Here’s a poster I did for Blake and Kate. I did the poster to match the album cover I designed for them a few months ago. Hope you enjoy! (album on top, poster on bottom)

REALISM PHOTOSHOP PAINTING 1

So, This was the first project given to us in my vector and raster graphics class. Not only was it a three week long project (we usually only get 2,) but it also weighs the most grade wise than all the other projects we’ll be working on. This project has over 100 paint layers, completely rendered in photoshop. Mixing, blending, smudging, dodging, burning were all my friends on this one… My roomates tablet helped too. Thanks Dan! After the image was complete, we had to come up with our own tag line, and make it work in the composition. I hope you likey.

Let me know what you think!

CITI TRENDS LOGO 3

I just finished my latest project for my graphic design class. We had to search Savannah for horrible logos (wasn’t a difficult task) and re-design one of them. I chose to re-design a logo for a store called “Citi Trends.” It’s kind of an urban-”thug” everything XXXL kind of store. The original logo made it look like Citi Trends was the kind of place you’d go to buy a baby shower gift. I hope my newly designed logo would help give some clarity to the stores purpose- and maybe more of a hint to what they sold. Let me know what you think!

For my Graphic Design class, We have four projects total. Two before mid terms, and two after mid terms. Here are the first Two projects:

This is the first project we had. Students were asked to pick two opposite words and represent them with two side-by-side symbols. Can you guess the opposing words I chose?

Symbol Project

This project is a study on type and illustration. Students were asked to choose any word and demonstrate that word using 80% typography and 20% illustration. Get it now?

This is a body of work I created to show the difference in behavior that comes along with change. I hope you find it humorous!

IT’S A START 0

Hello blogging community.

I have been working for a while now trying to figure out how to make this blog thing happen. I’ve had my website name bought and ready to roll since this summer, but figuring out css and style sheets is a burden. talk about frustrating. I’m inspired by reading my friends blogs and seeing how they can share their lives with an outlet other than facebook. While I will share stories and things of that nature on this blog, I’ll also post my artwork and alert you all who read this of new songs and hopefully album releases?

I’m also working to get the actual website (not just the blog) up and rolling so I can share my work and all that good stuff. I appreciate you stopping by and reading, it means a lot. I hope I can keep you interested!
